“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.”--David Warlick
We live in a digital age where technology is woven into various aspects of our lives; it is the way through which we communicate, evaluate, and view the world around us. By integrating these technological means into the classroom, we are providing our students with the tools to not only seamlessly enter our digital society, but to make a difference in the world. Technology integration is my passion; I am very excited to assist teachers in the technology integration process and to become collaborators in learning.
A little bit about me:
I am a North Allegheny graduate so it is an honor for me to be back in my home district. I possess my B.S. in Elementary Education as well as my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University. In addition, I have also received certifications as an Instructional Technology Specialist (K-12) as well as in Middle Level Science (7-9). STEM is a focal point in my experiences; in the final semester in my graduate program, I was given the opportunity to take a STEM focused course at the Kennedy Space Center at NASA!
Before coming to North Allegheny, I taught Kindergarten at North Hills and also spent time as an Instructional Technology Intern and later, a First Grade teacher in the Hampton Township School District. Currently, I am also an adjunct professor at Duquesne University, teaching Instructional Technology courses to both graduate and undergraduate students.I live in McCandless Township with my husband and adorable Malti-poo named Scooter.
