A little bit about me...
I received my B.S. in Business and B.A. in History from the University of Pittsburgh. A few years later I attended Averett University in Virginia and obtained my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, I am working towards my doctorate in Instructional Technology at Duquesne University as well as my M.S.Ed. in K-12 Administration. I have my Blackboard certification as well.
I taught Social Studies for 9 years in North Carolina and have experience teaching all grades 6-12. For the past two years, I worked as a Professional Development Facilitator in a Title I middle school in Charlotte, NC. This experience was eye-opening and allowed me to work in a 1:1 Chromebook environment. I have worked with Chromebooks in classrooms for over 8 years while utilizing Google Drive along with the many apps and extensions they have to offer.
In my "free" (what's that?) time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband works for Crossroads Foundations in Pittsburgh and my two children keep me busy. My daughter, Sloane, is 7 years old and starting 2nd grade in Hempfield School District. My son, Declan, is 4 years old and never sits down which makes for a very tired Mommy. While I grew up in the Pittsburgh area, attending Hempfield myself, I have been anticipating a move back home from NC. I am excited to begin working at North Allegheny Intermediate as a Technology Integrator. NASD has been a welcoming environment and I can't wait to get started.
