Mrs. Catherine "Ellie" Proskell (Burns)

  • About Mrs. Proksell:
    Catherine "Ellie" Proksell is a certified Speech Pathologist with her Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Lingusitics and an certificate in American Sign Language. Following her undergraduate studies, she recieved her Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her employment at North Allegheny, she worked at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. Mrs. Proksell is also currently coaches volleyball with North Allegheny. Mrs. Proksell enjoys playing volleyball, exercising, and spending time with her husband and family! 
     
     
  • According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a Speech-Language Pathologist is a professional who has been trained to prevent, screen, identify, assess, diagnose, refer, provide intervention for, and counsel persons with, or who are at risk, for articulation, fluency, voice, language, communication, swallowing, and related disabilities.

    If you are concerned that your child may be experiencing a speech and language difficulty, or if you have any questions regarding speech and language, you may contact your child's classroom teacher to request a speech and language screening, or contact me directly via phone or email.
