Hello and welcome to fifth grade, Peebles Fifth Grade families! My name is Mrs. Erin Sullivan, and this year (2021-2022) marks my fifteenth year as an educator with the North Allegheny School District.  I am the teacher of the 5C section, and my teammates are Mrs. Bennis and Mrs. Cornell.

It is a privelege to teach your children, and I understand as a parent myself just how important it is for a teacher to care for,  nuture, challenge, and encourage.  I thank you for entrusting your special 5th grader into my care this year. Much thought goes into each and every aspect of a school year, especiallly one as dynamic as 5th grade.  Just like 2020, 2021 may throw some curveballs; and we will navigate potential unknowns together, ensuring that your children feel safe, cared for, respected, given grace, and feel  loved each and every day.

As for my educational background, I hold a B.S. in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh Main Campus, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from University of Pittsburgh.

Professionally, aside from teaching fifth grade for over ten years at McKnight Elementary, I have taught fourth grade, kindergarten, and 6th grade (Ingomar Middle) English/reading. This past year (2020-2021), I taught 5th grade at North Allegheny Cyber Academy. Above all, Fifth grade has become my home, and I absolutely LOVE being a fifth grade teacher and watching my students grow and succeed! Fifth Grade is such a wonderful year!

I live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with my husband and our newly-minted kindergartner, Sydney. I am a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh.

An important tenant of a successful school year is consistent, positive home-school communication.  It is important that we work as a team to encourage your child to approach learning and social relationships positively and successfully.  When we work as a TEAM, great things can and will happen. I am looking forward to a wonderful 5th grade year here at PES...where IT ALL MATTERS!
