Peebles Elementary School

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to a wonderful year at Peebles Elementary.  I'm excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and looking forward to a happy and productive school year.  I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility.  My goal is to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom, however, I cannot do this alone as I need your help.  We (parents, students and I) need to work together as a team.

I will be planning many lessons for whole groups, small groups, and individual children.  The most important thing I consider when planning instruction is the specific needs of your child and the elements of a balanced program.  These elements include my reading aloud, shared reading, guided reading at the appropriate instructional level, independent reading to build fluency, and modeled, shared, and independent writing.

I strive to prepare students for next year.  In order to prepare them, they will be expected to be responsible and to do their best.  This includes turning in their homework on time, studying for tests, completing in-class assignments, and coming to school every day prepared and ready to learn.
