Marshall Elementary School
Marshall Elementary School and Marshall Middle School form a campus-like area on a 93-acre site. Classrooms are arranged in clusters and each grade level "owns" one particular part of the building. Each grade has its own wing and teaching area, creating a strong sense of class identity. This arrangement allows same-age children to remain together, and places the younger children close to administrative offices, where they can be more closely supervised and guided by adults. The kindergarten area has a completely separate entrance and drop-off. Traffic patterns within the buildings were developed to reduce congestion and confusion between periods. Children will have most of their classes in the same part of the building each day. Because classes are not scattered throughout the building, large group instruction can be flexible.
