• Over the course of the year, each child will have a week to be celebrated for his or her own exceptionality!  As we work to build a community within our classroom, this project is also a wonderful way to get to know and celebrate each other.  During your child’s week, the schedule is as follows:

MONDAY – Your child should bring a large poster with pictures (photographs or drawings) of themselves on it.  This is a project that they will enjoy creating with you at home.  It can display some of their friend or family members, pet, hobbies, etc.  Anything goes, so be creative!

TUESDAY – Your child may bring in one special Show-and-Share item.

WEDNESDAY – The estimation jar items are due on this day! Please fill a paper bag (I will send this home) with up to 100 of the same small non-edible item (paperclips, straws, etc.). Your child will fill the estimation jar with the items from the bag and the class will use estimation skills to guess how many items were brought in.  Please include the number of items brought on a piece of folded paper, inside your child’s bag, as well.

THURSDAY – Your child will be the star in a special story that we will be reading in class!

FRIDAY – Typically, we ask that a "special person" come in and read a story to the class.  However, this year may look a little different.  If you feel comfortable, you can record a video of yourself reading to the class and we will show it at the end of the day.  OR if you do not feel comfortable with this then you can send in your child's favorite book and I will read it to the class.
