    Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Dickson and I am thrilled to be entering my eighth year in Kindergarten!  I am so excited to get to know the students and community members at Franklin Elementary, and look forward to meeting new friends this year!

    A little bit about me...

I grew up in Franklin Park and graduated from North Allegheny.  I have a BS in Education and BS in Special Education from Slippery Rock University, as well as a Masters in Early Intervention with an Autism Specialization from the University of Pittsburgh.

I spent nine years teaching at Marshall Elementary for in Life Skills and Autistic Support.  I also spent six years teaching Kindergarten at Bradford Woods Elementary and one year teaching Kindergarten for the North Allegheny Cyber Academy. Understanding how to meet the needs of children with diverse learning needs is my passion.  I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2012.  I also had the privilege to share some of my knowledge while teaching at the University of Pittsburgh in the graduate Early Intervention program.

I believe that all children want to learn, feel successful and be happy at school.  My goal is to create an environment where all children feel safe and cared for, as well as one where I can provide meaningful learning experiences to help them in reaching their potential!
