McKnight Elementary School

Caring Team 

 

McKnight Elementary participates in the Highmark Caring Place's Caring Team program. Located in Warrendale, PA. the Caring Place provides support for children and their families who have had a death of a loved one. Various events, including our annual Penny War, are held throughout the year.

 

 

The Education Partnership provides school supplies to local students in and around the Pittsburgh area. Throughout the year, McKnight students raise money by purchasing cutouts to be displayed in our lobby and by participating in monthly theme days. 

 

 

Hop for Leukemia/Jump for a Cause 

 

Each year McKnight students participate in a fundraising activity during one integrated arts day. In the past, our students participated in the Hop for Leukemia which is sponsored through the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. We are very proud of the fact that we were the top fund-raising school in Western Pennsylvania for over 15 years! Recently, our students have taken part in Jump for a Cause which benefits North Hills Community Outreach.

 

 

The Shining Knights is a community service group made up of a group of students who participate in monthly service projects to help our community. Students are inspired to become active in and strengthen their community through service.
