The 2020-2021 school year marks the beginning of my 14th year in teaching!  I have spent the summer getting ready to teach my new second graders at McKnight Elementary School, and I could not be more excited to meet the students and families that will be a part of our class journey this year!  My absolute favorite subjects to teach are reading and writing!  I love sharing my love for books and the creative-writing process with young learners.  The journals that we will keep throughout the year will help us document our growth in literacy!  Before coming to McKnight, I taught as a reading specialist for six years, and then a Kindergarten teacher for three years.  I am thrilled to kick off another great year this year, so I hope you are as ready as I am for an amazing year in second grade!

**Mrs. Kerzmann has a son named Holden in fourth grade at McKnight this year, and a daughter named Juliet who just turned 6 and will be starting Kindergarten!  She loves sharing stories about her family, so you will get to hear lots about Mrs. Kerzmann's kiddos at school!**
