Mr. Hetzel currently serves as the Assistant Director of Facilities for the North Allegheny School District and has been with the District since June of 1996.  Previously Mr. Hetzel was Manager of Maintenance Services for North Allegheny from September 2017 until August 2019.  Prior to being the Manager of Maintenance Services, Mr. Hetzel worked 19 years in the North Allegheny Facilities maintenance department as first utility maintenance, HVAC technician, and plumber. Mr. Hetzel has an Associates Degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and is a registered Master Plumber with Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

As Assistant Director of the Facilities Department, Mr. Hetzel is responsible for the daily operation of all of the District’s buildings, including the cleaning and maintenance of the approximate 1.8 million square feet of space owned and operated by the North Allegheny School District.  In addition, Mr. Hetzel handles energy conservation, AHERA comliance, and is the Chairman of the District’s Safety Committee.

Biography - Mr. William Kirk

Mr. Kirk brings over 25 years of experience in project management, construction, facilities technology and building systems to North Allegheny. Mr. Kirk's broad experience spans industrial development, the high tech industry, the government sector, and the health care industry. Prior to joining the North Allegheny School District, Mr. Kirk provided owner-side project management and facilities services for a number of local organizations including RIDC, UPMC, Marconi Communications, Allegheny County, and Legent/Computer Associates.

Mr. Kirk currently serves as the Vice Chairman of Board of the MTSA, wastewater treatment authority serving large areas of northern region of Allegheny County. Previous community service includes the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board, the Allegheny Land Trust Board, and a board member of both the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association and IFMA. Mr. Kirk is a member of the Leadership Pittsburgh Class of 2005. He recieved his Masters of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and earned an RPA Designation (Real Property Administrator) through BOMA. He was also a long standing member of the National Association of Power Engineers.
