    Key Learner Objectives:
    1. Individual Activities require certain fundamental skills and techniques. 
    Understand the skill related fitness components used in tennis.  Model the correct technique for grip, ready position, forehand and backhand ground strokes for betterment of rally.  Identify the essential elements for overhand serve.  Participate in class tournaments and demonstrate proper tennis scoring, strategy, and tactics.  Understand the crossover of dance patterns as sport skill footwork.
     
    2. Everyone can participate in individual activities at varying levels. 
    Demonstrate eye hand coordination and ready position to promote successful play.  Identify and use racket skills in drills, modified games, and structured games and tournaments.  Perform singles and doubles games applying knowledge of court markings, serving and game rules, and etiquette.  Apply tennis terminology correctly in game settings and drills- ace, volley, lob, rally, smash, angle of trajectory, fault, let, double fault.  Apply dance patterns and creative movement to improve coordination.
     
    3. Individual Activities allow for the greatest number of opportunities for participation. 
    Identify local and community resources for practice, enjoyment, and further skill development.Understand the social, emotional, and physical benefits of choosing to participate in tennis as a lifetime activities.  Identify local opportunities for recreational, social, and further skill development in dance and creative movement activities.
     
    4. Individual Activities improve personal fitness through moderate to vigorous physical activity. 
    Understand and appreciate the lifetime fitness and health benefits of tennis.  Evaluate the benefits, risks, and safety factors associated with self-selected life-long physical activities.  Participate in 20 or more minutes of moderate to vigorous tennis related play on most class days.  Understand the personal fitness benefits derived from dance.
